The Christmas time of year is identified with parties upon celebrations. Food and ornaments are always put on the tip of many fete hosts checklists when planning the celebrations, but games to hold invitees delighted sometimes get ignored. If you are planning a Christmas festivity with family, friends, or even colleagues at the office, new celebration game ideas will ensure there is never a dark moment. Up the ante with game awards such as festive candy for a trivia challenge or form a group present swap game with cryptically enclosed presents.
Have fun performing this Christmas party games with your household and friends. White Elephant present exchanges are fun and easy and a special means to spice up a conventional present exchange. Each invitee who wishes to take part must give a gift.
Everyone sits or stands around in a round around the pile of gifts. Prepare slips of paper adequate to the total of presents with distinctly inscribed numbers. Be certain to distinguish six from 9, one from seven. Every involved invitee selects a number and holds onto that slip of paper. On the starting turn, the guest with paper slip #1 chooses a present, opens it, and all admire it. On the next round, the guest with paper slip #2 gets the choice of “stealing” any unwrapped present (#1’s) or choosing a wrapped one. If #2 bargains #1’s gift, then #1 must open a wrapped present. On the third turn, the guest with paper slip #3 gets the choice of “stealing” any unwrapped gift (#1’s or #2’s) or choosing a wrapped one. If a present is swiped from you, you can bargain a present, or open a wrapped one.
Regulations about “thieving:” A present cannot be instantly stolen back from the guest who just stole it.
The turn carries on until a wrapped present is selected thus the stealing stops. The fourth “owner” of a gift gets to keep it. The present is “dead” after it has been taken three times. “Owners” of “live” gifts must keep them visible and hold them up when requested. The gift exchange ends when the last wrapped gift is opened. Normally, guests are encouraged to perpetuate the gift stealing as long as there are “live” presents, but no one is obligated to do this.
